eGavel is Napa Group’s platform to handle an auction agent's daily operations. This modern, robust, browser-based application sits on top of the most comprehensive database for auction rate securities, providing auction agents with comprehensive market information and operating functionality.

eGavel serves as the central repository for all security, position, and bid data for auction rate securities. The system runs in the auction agent's data center and is completely configurable.

eGavel and START communicate seamlessly with each other, sending data like auction bids and results back and forth electronically.

Currently, the preferred method of communication between auction agents and dealers is FTP. Auction bids and results files are encrypted and then securely sent between institutions. For dealers that cannot accept files via FTP, eGavel can email them the various reports that it generates.

Even if the dealers aren't running Napa Group's START system, they can still get the information electronically if their system supports the industry-standard file formatss. In the worst case scenario, eGavel can send them an email with the information.

eGavel communicates with issuers, sending them auction results and interest payment information. It even sends them reports containing the fees due to the auction agent for running the auction.
